Blog Soup

If you don’t know about the epics of blog soup, a deliciously OP (Over Powered) explanation follows.

The comments below represent comments that I posted and those that failed to post to the websites, blogs, videos and streams that I visited. On occasion, they may represent Tweets, Replies, or Comments made on Facebook and other Social Media networks. Not everyone will appreciate the comments made to their post (I rarely suck up, brown nose or gush), but hopefully they’ll forgive me any offense (real or imagined) and, yes, they should absolutely love the rank-link juice to blog and Twitter. This is not a noob’s blog and some have even said that my seo game is fierce as it is sweet.

More about blog soup at the end of this post.

Creating images for your blog the right way

Jurij Burchenya provides a short and helpful list of freemium resources for CC0 images and image editing.

My comments

Intellectual Propety (IP) theft may be a problematic until the end of time – especially by the social media, blogging and website crowd. Because things are fast on the internet and a picture is worth a thousand words. But you don’t have to go to hell for sake of your uninspired ambitions to rapidly build online audience, customers, reach and influence.

Hong Kong Police Unleash Tear Gas on Peaceful Pro-Democracy Protesters

And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Venture Capitalist Marc Andreessen advises tech community to “worry”

The faint of heart worry when big tech investor uses the word “VAPORIZE” in all caps three times to describe the technology start up scene.
My comments

Venture capitalists are funny creatures of the childish kind. They overwhelmingly tend to invest in questionable, copycat ideas because they are unable to envision the profitable future for themselves, then they hype the unworthy, but, again and again, they freak out when the cards don’t play out.

They blow bubbles and bubbles pop.

Twitter Chats, Brands Secret to Twitter Relationships!

Brian Fanzo has some nice ideas about how you and brands can get ROI on the Twitter

My comment
Nice does not generate results but I also understand that honesty is pretty much unwelcome.
With my 20+ years of online experience, I suspect that humans sign up for Twitter because they want to enlarge their experience of the world and capture upon the purported benefits of that bigger picture.
The honest question is simple: how do you make what you bring to the table speak to the instant gratification that people want?
Unfortunately, the common answer is to lie and dress it up like a winner. If it looks like a winner (high count of followers, favorites and interaction), there is a 1:10000 chance per single message that an individual tweet may get a little attention.

Netanyahu to Ban Ki-moon: Absurd UN Human Rights Council will not investigate Hamas war crimes

http://www.jpost.com/Arab-Israeli-Conflict/PM-to-Ban-Absurd-UN-Human-Rights-Council-will-not-investigate-Hamas-war-crimes-376724

The Jerusalem Post reports that Israel Prime Minister Netanyahu complained to U.N. General Secretary Ban Ki-moon that the United Nations is more concerned with human rights questions in Israel than Syria where more civilians have been killed or harmed. Ban Ki-moon, however, was distracted by fond recollections of his grandmother’s kim chi.

Psalm 122:6

This week and other Social Media DOHs

Last Saturday, Yomar Lopez and I pondered if the BBC’s television show, Doctor Who on our Timey Wimey Tea Time podcast, is still appropriate for children.
Doctor Who remains billed as a kid’s show and most people believe it is family entertainment. The problem, as I point out, is not graphic violence, sexualized story lines, or inappropriate language. Actually, the lack of it may put off people from watching the show.

The problem is this: the underlying ideas and values presented in the story line. Here’s the problematic life lessons from the episode, Time Heist:
1. Robbing banks is fun
2. People being murdered isn’t something to get upset about, and
3. Murder is ok as long as there’s a happy ending for someone
I know what people are saying about my reflections. That Stan is overthinking it. Entertainment is all about fun, that fun is harmless and, therefore, anything fun is excluded from any and all moral requirements and examination. Any intelligent reading of the Bible, however, strongly suggests that’s not how God sees things.

Nor would Aristotle, arguably the greatest of the pagan and natural philosophers, agree that fun, humor, sport or any human activity can be excluded from our moral consideration and judgment with a hahaha.

It is silly of me but I continue to be surprised that most people think that the brains should be turned off whenever convenient. That common platitude doesn’t even make any kind of sense from a semi-scientific evolutionary point of view.

More about blog soup

For better or worse, curation, conversation, intelligence, humanity, curiosity, intense value and cunning are at the heart of social. If you can’t bring three out of seven, social is going to be a casual experience for you. Blog Soup is a exercise in both social savvy and social media DOH. You can learn from it. You are free to imitate the format and steal the title for your own purposes and ambitions. Hat tips to me would be appreciated but they are not necessary. The words in my blog soup are copyright by me. Just email me if you want to use my blog soup on your own blog.
Feel free to recommend a post or other kind of illuminating share to me. For inclusion in my blog soup. Do not recommend your own stuff unless you are doing awesome, epic or legendary things that will amaze me. Or if no one knows who you are AND you have important ideas to share with the world. Because I do have a heart. My email is stan.faryna@gmail.com.
