The days of the sith are numbered
by Stan Faryna
Sometimes, a smile is as good as a glance of sunshine. A hot cup of brisk tea or a foamy latte, a plate of scones and savories, and maybe the television going on for a little background noise. And we can make much ado about nothing. Because we are friends.

I’m looking forward to Friday. Led by the hounds of heaven, I will escape the city and leave all my worries and troubles behind as if I evade the walking dead – leaving them to wander mumbling, groaning, and aimlessly searching. Until I return.
I look forward to the deafening silence that emanates in little, old churches – they listen as if they stand in the presence of God. And outside, the chirping wild birds, blue skies, and rolling green hills.
I look forward to the laughter and Christian cheer of peasants as they walk ten miles back and forth to the Easter service. They’ll walk it twice this weekend. Small children and grandparents, mostly. Those fit to work outside the country will be absent and they do not return until Christmas.
I look forward to good food, good wine, and the light-hearted freedom of driving up and down country roads. Lazily. Without any care.
I may be obsolete (indeed this is something we shall know sooner or later), but even the obsolete will laugh, love, and pray. And that is a good thing.
What wonderful things do you have in store for this weekend? Hopefully, not another epic blog post!
